The Hall County Library System (HCLS) is seeking two bilingual (Spanish/English) teen interns for summer 2018. Interns will receive a stipend of $500 at the end of their month-long internship. Each internship is 16 hours per week for four weeks during June or July 2018. Teens must be 16-18 years of age and live in Hall County. Interns will receive training as well as a library T-shirt during their internship. The Hall County Library System is a Drug-Free Workplace and Equal Opportunity Employer. Successful applicants must pass a drug test, E-verify screening, and criminal background check for those 18 and older. The deadline for applications is May 11th at 5 PM.
-Assisting children and families with sign up for the Summer Reading program and logging their reading activities
-Assisting Spanish speaking families with sign up for library cards and acquiring information on library services
-Preparing and planning small children’s programs and library displays
-Providing support for staff and assist patrons at HCLS’s “Pop Up” Library in the East Hall Community
-Evaluating and preparing marketing materials at HCLS
-Must be 16-18 years of age at the start of the Internship and reside in Hall County
-Speak fluent Spanish and English
-Available for four weeks in June or July of 2018 working 16 hours per week.
-Available on Thursdays
-Provide own transportation to Gainesville Library
-Interest in education or working with children
-Ability to work well with a team
-Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task without direct supervision
-Comfortable using different web-based technology and software
-Must be friendly and customer service oriented
This internship is a grant program is provided by YALSA and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
