Outreach Services
Books-By-Mail is the library's outreach delivery service for the transportation-limited individual who would like to have free accessibility to public library books. The client is provided a postcard to use in requesting book titles or in specifying subject interests for book recommendations by the Books-By-Mail coordinator. Adult and children's books are mailed to the library patron with postage paid to and from the reader. Books are mailed in vinyl or cloth mailing bags; other library service information may also be mailed in the bag with additional order forms. If you feel that you may qualify for Books-By-Mail Service from the Hall County Library System or you know someone who would be a good candidate for the program, please call 770-531-2500. A current library card and mailing address will be required for the program, and a contact telephone number is also requested. The Books-By-Mail Coordinator will contact the patron and complete the application form with the patron to begin the service. The Hall County Library System Books-By-Mail Program has been made possible through a special grant celebrating the 50th anniversary of the United Way of Hall County.
Hall County Library System's "Books to Go..." program provides services to interested child care centers throughout the county. Every other month the library checks out bins of 20-80 books and delivers them to participating centers. These deposit collections are kept in the centers and used by the children and staff there. During the summer, centers may participate in Vacation Reading Program. Daycares, preschools, Mothers Morning Out programs, and other centers that serve children may request outreach services by calling 770-532-3311, ext. 129. |
