Your membership in Friends
supports many wonderful library programs and services. During 2005, the Friends
contributed to Hall Reads Together featuring author Philip Lee Williams, brought
NY Times bestselling author Steve Berry to speak, and contributed substantially
to funding the library’s Vacation Reading Program. Please continue to support the library
by participating in Friends.
Don’t forget to renew your
Friends of the Hall County Library membership for 2006. Your contribution is tax
deductible, and will be used to support the library. Use the form at the end of
the newsletter to join or renew your membership. If your name is not on the list of
members, the Friends have not received your 2006 renewal. Please check the list and let us
know if we have your name misspelled or have omitted you from the list by
mistake. As always, thank you for being a Friend!

Corner
Dear
Friend,
It is that time of year
again. On June 5, the Friends are having their annual get together to elect new
officers and organize for another year. Last year they had Georgia author Steve
Berry speak at the program, and everyone that attended enjoyed his
question/answer period as much as his talk about how he made the New York Times
list for bestsellers. Steve has just released a new novel. I understand that The
Templar Legacy is the best book he has written so far and it is a natural tie in
with our upcoming Friends program.
This year the Friends
invited Mary Beth Looney, an assistant professor and Chair of the Art &
Design Department at
I hope to have an
opportunity to meet with you at the program. I also want to learn what the
Friends are interested in accomplishing next year. There is a new library branch
on the horizon with a lot to do before it opens.
Sincerely,
Friends Election to
